Mishaal Ijaz

Mishaal completed her Erasmus Mundus Joint MSc in Advanced Systems Dependability (Computer Science) from the National University of Ireland, Maynooth in Ireland and University of St Andrews in Scotland. She spent her first year of her Joint Masters degree specialising in core Software Engineering, Databases and Advanced Programming modules. During her second year, she focused on AI and Data Science track. She also holds a Bachelors (Hons) in Computer Science from National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad, Pakistan.

During her undergraduate studies, Mishaal worked as a Web Development Intern, working on front-end as well as back-end development to deliver commercial outcomes. She also completed a Machine Learning internship in a Machine Learning research lab for 6 months where she focused on various Deep Learning Research and Development tasks utilising new tools, exploring latest application areas and Deep Learning networks. Her undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations have been focused on Machine Learning and Data Analytics. She enjoys working with real-world datasets and drawing insights and visualisations from raw data.

Outside of work, Mishaal enjoys learning about Cosmology, watching movies, spending time on Google Earth and traveling.
