Commitment to achieving Net Zero
Forecast is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2040.
Baseline Emissions Footprint
As we have not previously assessed or reported our emissions, our baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced at present and are produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.
Baseline Year: 2021 – As a growing SME, we have not previously assessed or reported emissions in this format prior to 2021, hence it is our Baseline year.
Additional Details relating to the Baseline Emissions calculations.
Our Baseline has been calculated during this year, 2021, and considers activity at current levels in a Covid-19 pandemic affected year.
We moved to a new energy efficient office in the last year, with LED lighting, renewable energy source and removal of single use plastics, which has helped us achieve our low initial figure. |

Emissions Reduction Targets
To continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets.
We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next four years to 85 tCO2e by 2025.
This is a reduction of 25.12% from our 2021 baseline.
Our 2025 Reporting Year Targets are set out below:
Future Emissions Reporting Targets
Reporting Year: 2025 | |
We do not have any plans to own our buildings, vehicles or other sources of direct greenhouse gas emissions by 2025 and therefore do not foresee any future contribution to Scope 1 emissions.
The reductions targeted will be achieved through the delivery of Future Carbon Reduction Projects, detailed in this plan. |

Carbon Reduction Targets 2021-2040
Our targeted progress towards Net Zero by 2040 is outlined in the graph below (future iterations of this plan will include the Actual Performance against the Targeted Projections):

Completed Carbon Reduction Projects
The following environmental measures and projects have been completed or implemented in the last year. The carbon emission reduction achieved by these schemes is now being measured in tCO2e and will be reported in subsequent years’ Carbon Reduction Plans:
- New Office which uses 100% renewable energy
- LED lighting used throughout the office
- Removal of single use plastics and cups from the office
- Encouraging our staff to use walk, cycle or use public transport when commuting to the office
- Encouraging and promoting flexible working and home working where applicable, to reduce carbon emissions from commuting travel.
Future Carbon Reduction Projects
In the future we hope to implement further measures such as:
- Sign Forecast and our employees up to “Pawprint” – a carbon footprint measurement tool (in 2022)
- Encourage rail travel rather than air travel as the default for all UK domestic travel where appropriate (2021)
- Encourage the continued adoption and increased use of Video calls (MS Teams) where possible, as a default to travelling to meetings – behaviour change being encouraged with immediate effect (2021)
- Offer employees a Cycle to Work Scheme by 2023
- Provide electric car loans to employees by 2025
- Provide employees a forum for suggestion which will be discussed at Board level to inform our Environmental strategy (2022)
- As we scale up, we will aim not expand the office footprint. If any expansion is a commercial imperative, it will be in line with our Carbon plan (ongoing to 2040).
- By exploring ISO14001 accreditation by 2025, we will ensure any scale up of the business aligns with both our environmental policy and our Carbon Reduction Plans between then and now.
Declaration and sign off
The Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN06/21 and associated guidance and reporting standards for Carbon Reduction Plans
Emissions have been reported and recorded in accordance with the published reporting standards for Carbon Reduction plans and the GHG Reporting protocol corporate standard and uses the appropriate Government emission conversion factors for greenhouse gas company reporting.
Scope 1 and 2 emissions have been reported in accordance with SECR requirements and the required subset of Scope 3 emissions have been reported in accordance with the published reporting standard for carbon reduction plans and corporate value chain (Scope 3) Standard.
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and signed off by the board of directors.
